Navigating Windows 11 on the Classroom Computers

Sign into Classroom Computer 

• Select any key on the keyboard or click your mouse 

• If your username is not populating on the machine, select “Other user”.  Then enter your GCU username & password.  
  • Full Time Employee is usually: firstname.lastname 
  • Adjunct Employee is usually: [email protected] 

• Windows 11 Desktop Layout 

• To Open programs, select the Start button to select one of the pinned programs such as Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, Word, or File Explorer (which you may want to load contents from a USB Flash Drive). 

Sign out computer 

• Windows Start Menu Icon --> Person Icon --> “Sign out” 

 

Restart computer

• Windows Start Menu Icon --> Power Icon --> Restart 

 

      
Search & Launch programs 

• Windows Start Menu Icon --> Select desired Program from Classroom Shortcuts on right side 

• Select Search Icon --> Type the name of program --> Select & Launch       

 

File Explorer for USB Flash Drive 

• Windows Start Menu in the bottom left corner 

• Select File Explorer

• Select “This PC”  

• Select the desired flash drive or department drive.

• When having issues, IT may ask for the Computer name or IP Address which can be found in the GCU Support Info Icon on the desktop.
